You could — and if you'll build it and keep it current yourself, you honestly should; we'd tell you to save your money. The monthly isn't for the website software (that part's cheap). It's for the work the software doesn't do — building it, writing it, shooting the photos, and keeping it current every month — plus a real person to call. You're paying to have it handled, not to rent a tool.
Will a new website bring us more members or customers?
Honestly, not by itself — and we won't pretend otherwise. It keeps you from looking outdated and from losing the people already finding you, and we handle all of it. For new reach, that's local search and your Google profile, which we also do.
Do we own our site and domain?
Yes. Your domain is registered in your name, and it's yours. You're never locked in.
